India Moves Toward Smarter and Safer Digital Payments, and AI Gets a Security Boost

Quick Look at Google DeepMind’s CodeMender

Here’s the thing: Google DeepMind recently introduced a new AI tool called CodeMender. Its main job is to make software safer really and totally by automatically fixing security problems. What’s impressive is that in its early work, CodeMender fixed 72 security issues across 4.5 million lines of open-source code. That means it’s helping to make software better without needing as many humans to do all the boring, repetitive fixing.

This AI works by using new models called Gemini Deep Think. It analyzes code in different ways—like static testing (checking code without running it), dynamic testing (testing while running), and differential testing (comparing changes). It also works with many smaller AI agents that work together, kind of like a team. Their goal is to find the root causes of vulnerabilities and then create patches that not only fix the problems but also make the code stronger overall.
